Hi, I’m John.

I’m a comic artist and illustrator based in Northern California, originally from Central Florida. My work focuses largely on personal storytelling, especially around mental health, grief, and healing.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked across a pretty wide range of comics and illustration, from journal-style memoir comics to more traditional titles, with a mix of mainstream, indie, and self-published work. I’ve contributed to projects for Dark Horse and Marvel, worked on indie titles like B-Squad with close friends, and self-published projects and pitches including Grimlaw and Dungeon Crawlers.

My latest project, Overshare, is a journal-comic memoir about mental health, cancer caregiving, past trauma, and the sometimes messy work of healing. It grew out of years of using autobiographical comics to work through the things that were harder to put into words, and I’m finishing the book in 2026.

Outside of comics, I’ve done freelance illustration for T-shirts, beer labels, posters, flyers, stickers, and merch. I also run DOOMBEAST, an online shop where I make shirts, stickers, and assorted spooky, irreverent nonsense.

These days, I’m primarily focused on my own comics and illustration, but I’m open to select freelance and work-for-hire opportunities when the right one comes along. I care about making work that feels honest and true to who I am. If you’re a publisher or collaborator with something you think I’d be a good fit for, feel free to reach out.
